Nadolski Weighs In on Michigan’s Outdoor Economy

Marge Stevens

Updated: Apr 2, 2020

Amrock Commercial’s Vice President Steve Nadolski recently discussed Michigan’s changing recreational landscape, and how the changes impact economic growth in the state. Steve told Crain’s Detroit Business that younger generations are still enjoying the state’s abundant natural resources, but in different ways than previous generations. He added that in order to tap into new outdoor opportunities, businesses will need to pinpoint emerging outdoor trends.

“Young people today are not looking for the same outdoor recreation activities we did as kids,” Steve said. “When I grew up, you hunted, fished and camped. Now, it’s trending differently, and our goal is to figure out what resources we can pull together to follow those trends and provide that feedback to the state.”

Steve is a member of the newly formed Outdoor Recreation Advisory Council, initiated by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources to determine ways to improve partnerships and develop strategies to increase the state’s outdoor recreation economy. He also leads Amrock’s Commercial team, who works with the nation’s leading underwriters to streamline title insurance and settlement services and provide nationwide coverage.
